We are in Singapore

It is 1:00 a.m. here in Singapore.  But back home it is noon.  We arrived safely to the most beautiful airport I have ever seen.  It is so clean.  I am anxious for the sun to come up so I can see the city before we leave again.  We are staying in a hotel attached to the Changi airport.  It is a crowne plaza and is so swanky.  I will upload pics soon.  The floor we are staying on is the second floor and is an outdoor floor.  Our hotel room opens up to the most beautiful pool.  The pool has the big planters in it with tropical palms.  The air temp is in the 80's but there is a breeze blowing through the palm trees.   It feels very tropical yet very modern.

I got in trouble for taking pictures as I was going through customs.  There was a picture of a huge, record breaking sailboat on the wall and I wanted a picture.  I was reprimanded sternly.  And of course, I thought immediately about popping a piece of gum in my mouth.  But that would extend my stay in Singapore (in jail).  I can see the product of their strict laws.  It is very clean and neat.  There must also be a law about alcohol, because I cannot find a beer anywhere.  Tim and I left dad in the hotel room to go find a drink and a snack.  We are sitting in a cafe having water and toast.  That was all they had this late at night.

Of course I can't sleep even though I should.  Instead I want to leave the airport/hotel/mall we are in and walk the streets of Singapore.  (No mom, I won't.)
